Vivid launches App for Ramblin' Man Fair 2017!

Our latest brilliant client, Ramblin' Man Fair, put on a killer two day music festival every summer. In July, the world's best classic and prog rock, blues and country artists converge on a Maidstone field and make some noise. It's all tied together with an incredible selection of grub, grog and glamping — think craft ales, low’n’slow barbecued meats and ostrich burgers, craft beers, rare whiskey... you know the drill. The result is the perfect family-friendly weekend getaway for everyone out there who used to own a pair of leather trousers or denim vest.

And we should know. We were there a few months ago pitching an IOS and Android app that would help the 'ramblers' really get the most out of the festival – not your typical pitch setting, but better than most. And today we launch the fruits of our labour!

The official Ramblin' Man Fair 2017 app features exclusive news about the event, an in-app store to buy tickets and merch, integrated YouTube playlists, maps of the venue, schedule and lineup information, plus loads more. Making it a one stop shop for everything you need to know about Ramblin’ Man Fair 2017.

Vivid finalise Polystream website and branding

The wizards over at Polystream have conjured up something rather special — they’ve created the world's first 3D, pixel perfect, application streaming platform. Revolutionising how companies can reach their audience, completely free from the restrictions and limitations of existing GPU streaming technology. Allowing businesses to grow their customers from any cloud, at any scale, anywhere.

With such a clever product they needed a suitably swish website and visual identity, which is why they enlisted our help.

We worked with Polystream to design an entirely new website that contains plenty investor-friendly information about the company, wbhile still maintaining an air of playfulness and fun, representative of the backgrounds in gaming of many of Polystream's core team members.

We also created an entirely new visual identity for Polystream including a new logo and aided them with their branding. We’re rather pleased with the results, but why not have a little look at the end result for yourself? Check the new website here

Vivid aid Tuella brand developent

Tuella have a pretty great ambition — to operate residential care homes for the elderly that truly feel like home.

In addition to offering the 24 hour a day care on which they pride themselves, Tuella have a philosophy of trying to provide enjoyment, fun and laughter to all of their residents. It was these core principals of the Tuella brand Vivid were tasked with exemplifying.

The outcome included the design of two completely new websites, one for the umbrella Tuella brand and another for Brookdale House, the first care home to be operated by Tuella. We also worked closely with the team at Tuella to conceive new logos and slogans for their brands, and finished aiding their brand development by designing new signage for Tuella’s sites.

Take a look at Tuella’s new website here, and the one we created for Brookdale house here

Vivid release new brochure for Ascot Racecourse

Hello everyone! We’re ecstatic to announce that we’ve just released our first publication for Ascot Racecourse (yes, that Ascot Racecourse!) The Jumps Season Owner & Trainer Information brochure for 2016/2017.

The people at Ascot approached us with their needs — a straightforward publication that could be given to both the owners and trainers of runners at their autumn and winter events. It needed to serve as both a newsletter for the venue and a one-stop-shop for information on things such as parking (for cars and helicopters!) veterinary surgeon contact details, all the while still being readable and of a suitably high-standard for such a prestigious venue.

The 24 page brochure is printed on robust high quality card, perfect for surviving outdoors in the potentially inclement weather of the season, and is filled to the brim with practical information — from track maps and race listings to details about the course’s facilities and dress codes. We also loaded the brochure with gorgeous images of previous seasons at Ascot.

Vivid completes rebrand for Quadrise Fuels

The boffins at Quadrise Fuels have a pretty impressive product. Their exclusive MSAR® technology allows companies in various industries from marine shipping to refining and even power-generation to use the muck at the bottom of an oil drum (our words not theirs), cleverly blend it with water and chemicals and create a fuel source! All of which incredibly reduces costs and is kinder to the environment than many other types of Heavy Fuel Oil.

With such an innovative product Quadrise Fuels has understandably set itself the mission to be the world’s leading oil-in-water emulsion fuels company, and they enlisted Vivid to give them a little helping hand on their way.

We started by giving their website a complete overhaul, redesigning and rebuilding from the ground up. The new site has a whole host of new content and incorporates interactive infographics, case studies and high-quality images and sparkly new renders like the one below – all designed to simply and clearly express to potential investors and clients alike the key benefits of MSAR® technology.

We also helped with brand development and rollout across it offices and sites, but let's stick to their lovely new website and how they now tell their story. Take a look for yourself.

We've won an award!

For those of you who haven't already heard, last week we swept up the award for Marketing Campaign of the Year at the Bristol Post Business Awards for our 'Define Tomorrow' Campaign for the lovely people at ComputerWorld.

See below the obligatory press release to find out more.

VIVID WIN BRISTOL POST BUSINESS AWARD FOR MARKETING

Bristol based content marketing agency Vivid, has swept up the award for Marketing Campaign of the Year at the 2016 Bristol Post Business Awards.

The winning campaign entitled ‘Define Tomorrow’ was conceived for Vivid’s client ComputerWorld, one of the South West’s largest business IT companies. The multi-faceted campaign involved the design and construction of an entirely new website for the company, along with responsive email, social and video campaigns culminating in a ‘Define Tomorrow’ event which instantly became the largest business technology conference in the South West, and gained recognition from numerous industry-giants including the likes of Microsoft, Dell and VMware.

Founded by three ex-Future plc executives, Vivid was established back in 2015 as a full-service marketing agency designed to offer brands the rich story-based marketing approach which is usually reserved for consumer publishing. Blending the crafts of journalism and publishing with big brand marketing Vivid tells brilliant stories across a multitude of client channels, creating magazines, websites, events and ‘all the things the internet loves’.

We’re absolutely delighted that the Define Tomorrow campaign has received such recognition for both us and ComputerWorld, who are always a pleasure to work with. We hope this demonstrates to brands, large and small, that great marketing is simply great storytelling, and if you want to get your brand’s story out there, you need compelling content. The principle upon which we founded Vivid just 18 months ago.
— Jayne Caple, Managing Director, Vivid
To many, business IT solutions is such a dry and frankly impenetrable subject matter that attracting business leaders to an event on such a subject then without them glazing over is a difficult task. To tackle this issue we created a vibrant new thought leadership sub-brand, website, email campaign, and Bristol-based event to tell ComputerWorld’s story and convey business benefits rather than technology stories.
— Sean Atkins, Content Director, Vivid

5 content marketing podcasts you need to listen to

DON'T GOOGLE IT: In which publication did the term “podcasting” first appear?

There was once a time when podcasts were ignored by the majority of ITunes users. Perceived by most of us as hour long, mouth-breath heavy discussions on esoteric (nerdy) pursuits. Lauded only by Stephen Fry and that one guy in the office you always avoided mentioning the staff Friday pub lunch to.

However, this all began to change in the late 00’s when the medium was pulled into the limelight by the likes of Ricky Gervais and Kermode & Mayo who started to utilise podcasts to support their content to massive success. Today most of us have found solace on a packed commuter train on a miserable Wednesday morning by sinking into Sarah Koenig’s next gripping instalment of Serial or the musings of the QI Elves on There’s No Such Thing as a Fish.

But podcasts can do much more than entertain, there is a wealth of informative and insightful industry specific podcasts out there for all kinds of professionals; from anthropologists to zoologists (probably) with everything in between, and us content marketers are no exception. So here’s our top 5 favourite marketing podcasts that you should be listening to.

1. PNR with This Old Marketing

Hosted by the founder of the Content Marketing Institute and its Chief Content Strategist. Each week Joe and Robert look back in time at a historical piece of great content marketing to demonstrate that it’s not by any means a new concept. They also take a look at the latest news in the industry and have a ‘rants and raves’ segment.

2. The Marketing Companion

While we’re not quite sure we can vouch for their self-proclamation as “the world’s most entertaining marketing podcast” hosts Mark Schaefer and Tom Webster take a humorous look into the world of marketing in their regular podcast. Each 30 minute instalment focuses on a specific niche or aspect of the industry and features regular guest appearances.

3. Content Inc.

The second appearance of Joe Pulizzi on our list. Content Inc. differs considerably from This Old Marketing. In each concise (always less than 15 minutes) episode Pulizzi directs inspiration and advice towards small businesses, entrepreneurs and startups on how to use content marketing to develop a loyal audience base.

4. The Craft of Marketing with Seth Price

Seth is a content marketer who has consulted for over 300 companies in the world of digital marketing. In each episode of Kickstarter funded podcast Seth interviews an entrepreneur or marketing guru in-depth and picks their brain about a relevant concept of the industry.

5. Content Marketing Academy

Host Chris Marr’s relaxed but well researched interviews have that winning combination of being both informative yet highly listenable — throw in Chris’ own incites and opinions about content marketing and you’ve got a podcast that’s perfect when you want something to zone in and out of while working.

Check out the new brochure we made for Opun

Loft conversions, are one of the most popular home improvement’s to carry out in the UK, and the finished result can have tremendous advantages — in many cases dramatically increasing property value and useable floor space in a home.

However, the whole process if done alone can be a bit of a hassle; homeowners needing to get technical drawings, planning permission, and employing a whole host of different tradespeople. That’s why the clever people at Opun decided to revolutionise the whole industry, by taking all of the stress out of loft conversions, and taking care of everything for their customers. Even sorting out their technical drawings in just 72 hours!

Although Opun offer a whole host of different home improvement services, they understandably wanted to illustrate just how easy they could make transforming an old attic. So, we created this nifty little brochure for them all about the subject, have a read of the e-version below.
